We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
Learning in action
St Andrew’s Catholic Primary School Malabar’s parents are given various opportunities throughout the year to visit the school, including ‘meet the teacher nights and weekly assemblies.
Communicating with St Andrew’s
We communicate with parents through our weekly newsletter, the Compass student information system and app, emails, phone, and social media. Parents make an appointment with a teacher when required.
Supporting students
Our community is always willing to lend a hand and many parents are active volunteers across many activities. We have a Parents and Friends Association (P&F) which helps to strengthen the partnership between family, school, parish, and the wider community for the benefit of students’ development and learning. The P&F discusses school-related matters as well as plans for future social activities and fundraising.
Before and after-school care
Conveniently located on the school grounds our before and after-school care is accessible for families. The caring and motivated Star Club educators commit to collaborating with children to provide meaningful play and leisure activities. Star Club aims to create a fun, relaxed, and stimulating environment where children feel safe, secure, and supported.
